PORTUGAL
Portugal, a bucket list destination for port lovers. Over 300 years of experience and tradition have gone into making the full-bodied, rich, and unique fortified wine. UNESCO even deemed the Alto Duoro a World Heritage Site in 2001, recognising the importance and beauty of this valley. But there is much more to Portugal than port. One of the oldest countries in Europe, it is steeped in history, culture, and diverse architectural styles. Lisbon, the capital city, pre-dates London, Paris and Rome. And for beach lovers, the Algarve region boasts one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in Europe (Marinha Beach).

Spring and Autumn are perfect to walk the Portuguese Camino, although can vary from very hot to cool and wet. Late September, early October in the Duoro Valley has a great buzz as the harvest is usually underway.
